improvement in the bathroom closet

Debra got me one of those nice canvas bins, and since it's gray, I thought of the bathroom first.

It's serving as my new ironing basket; I cleaned all manner of unnecessary items from the bottom of the of the previous one, and tossed an old and cracking plastic bin which held rags I never seem to need. Things I needed to do for a long time, and accomplished entirely in the space of about ten minutes, all because of this new, unexpected gift. Wow.

  1. Nice basket! I have a similar one I put my knitting in. Grey...my favourite (non)colour :) xx

  3. Isn't that the way it is - I find that so many tasks really don't take long, if I will just start them. Starting.... well, a pretty basket has gone beyond being just beautiful and become a prompt. That is an encouraging story!

  4. Yes! for useful gifts. :) And it has been something I've noticed so often in the past few years that things I often put off/procrastinate about are things that really don't take much time at all to do. We used to make a big deal out of doing our taxes, for example--we would designate an afternoon as "Tax Day" and kind of set up shop and work on them together, but I realized awhile back that I can just sit down and do them very quickly--in about an hour--and I don't need to make a production out of it. There's something to "Just do it." :) And projects like your ironing basket clean-out feel so good to get done.

  5. That is a nice looking basket! As others have said before me - it only takes a bit of inspiration (or a pretty gift) and all sorts of jobs get done in no time at all!

  6. Inspiration is so funny, how quickly it can strike and in what forms. And how little things can make a big difference. Nice work.
