crocheting at the library

About three weeks ago I saw a box of yarn in Trisha's office, and realized we had to do something to use it up. She gets many donations of yarn and fabric, and I just got this sudden notion to make something - anything!

She said that a small throw might be nice; it's all in double crochet and I do two rows a day, generally, and am trying to keep it harmonious with the children's department colorway. So far, so good.

  1. How lovely! The colours go really well together.

I'm just searching through my stash of yarn to find some bright bits and pieces to start a granny square baby blanket for this month's charity knitting. xx

  2. What an excellent idea and the colours are nice too! I always like to see brightness and comfort in children's libraries as I'm sure more books get chosen and read in comfortable places. Having said that, I remember the library I used to go to when I was a little girl with real affection and nostalgia. There were a few little chairs and a table but everything was very tidy and quiet with no decorations at all! It was the books I loved!

    1. Tidy, quiet and plain sounds just right for a child, Clare. It's the books that count, isn't it?
