- did all the laundry there was
- ironed all my clothes
- defrosted leftovers for our supper
- took the seven pound chicken out which I was saving for Thanksgiving.
Sunday
- made a roasted chicken feast for a few friends, just to try and use it up
- made up some cookie dough after realizing with dismay how much butter I have
- we put everything fly-awayable in the shed
Today
- finishing up with the laundry
- making more cookies and maybe a fruit crisp
- going to try and cook up everything in the house that I can
We have plenty of batteries and canned food. I have a baby quilt to work on. Right now the wind gusts are picking up. I wonder how it's going to go.
Please, Keep Safe. Keep us updated as much as possible...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carmen - the winds have definitely picked up in the last hour and a half. The coastal areas will be getting it much worse than we will.
DeleteKeep safe,
ReplyDeletedo you have some kind of lantern in case you don't have power, candles are fine for finding your way but a lantern is needed for sewing and reading.
Yes, Margaret - we have two battery powered lanterns, which I should be putting batteries in now! It will be dark in little more than an hour.
DeleteI think New Jersey is getting the worst of it.
Thanks for thinking of us! :)
I love that word "flyaway-able". Describes it perfectly. Stay safe, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteYou, too! (are we working tomorrow? does anybody know yet???)
Deleteoh, take care! I love your list, though. So similar to mine.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margo! It seems so calm now - 3 or 4 hours ago it was quite hurricaney.
DeleteYou certainly were well prepared (love your organization!)
