new money, old jokes, and cat drama

This is what I came home to -

which of course reminded me of a crime scene. But she revived after a little, and seems to be her usual self. And there was no blood, for a change.

Money laundering: a dime went through the wash. That reminds me of a joke an older gentleman told me last week at the library - How does an angel light a candle? *

Easter is two weeks away.

"Hold fast to your duty, busy yourself with it, grow old while doing your task. Admire not how sinners live, but trust in the Lord and wait for his light; God's blessing is the lot of the just man, and in due time his hopes bear fruit."

Sirach 11: 20-21a, 22

  3. Ha! I thought you meant the answer to your joke was "Easter is two weeks away". And I thought "Huh? I don't get it?" Then I saw the real answer in tiny writing at the end of your post. :)) xx

  4. My daughters used to fall asleep in odd places like that. Dear Orphan Annie! I liked the joke and the quote from Sirach. I am finding it hard to believe that Easter is only a fortnight away!

    1. I've seen pictures of children falling asleep in the strangest places, as if they were suddenly enchanted in the middle of something. Annie is a little dear - she escaped today! The little darling didn't go far, and wanted to come in right away. But spent the rest of the afternoon crying at the fresh air coming in the window; she won't tolerate the harness, so I feel bad about keeping her inside.

    2. Poor Annie! They don't understand that you keep them in for their safety. I have heard of people who have used a structure like an aviary or a fruit cage outside where their pets can play but are safe.

  5. I must be getting slow. Took a while to get the joke. Got there in the end. I thought you had a little dog and was wondering how it got on with the cats. They do fall asleep in funny places.
