sewing a mask

A couple of weeks ago someone from the town came to the library with cloth masks for all of us.

I've been bookmarking youtube videos with different mask-making methods. But I rather liked this one (except it's a little big). I copied it.

It took me a while to notice the packaging. I wonder if some group in town made them.

  1. I like the quote from Psalm 46 on the packaging. I think that would encourage me to pray more while wearing it. I also like the idea of the filter insertion pocket. Up until recently, the wearing of face masks here has been optional; we were expected to rely on social distancing, I think. It was also (and still is) virtually impossible to buy masks from anywhere and not everyone has a stash of material at home or is able to make one for themselves. As I stay at home all the time (except when I sneak out for a quick walk up the lane for a change of scene) Richard is the only one who has to go out into the wide world to shop and collect medication. He managed to buy a small pack of masks a few weeks ago though he hates wearing them as he keeps steaming up his glasses and can't see where he's going! :D

    1. Yes, they are a pain with glasses! My magnifiers don't agree with the mask. :D

  2. Looks like the same design I made. Interesting that it suggests coffee filters. I have a whole pack in the back of a cupboard, from our old coffee machine. Such a lovely idea to share the masks with you all.
