March wishes

March, where I live, is the most unpredictable of months. Usually it's muddy from melting winter snows, and more than occasionally we get a blizzard. Also, coming after the shortest month, it seems very long.

But none of this is the case this year. Except for today. We have had mildness, no snow since January, and no sign of wild weather. But this morning I heard the weatherman say we'd have a bit of snow, and then rain.

Well. It snowed all day until late afternoon, turned to rain, but even now the rain is mixed with sleet. That's March.

But whatever your climate I hope and pray everyone who's got to stay inside has good books to read, and warm companionship!

  1. Hi, Lisa! Winter seems to have skipped right by us here! We've had lots and lots of precipitation, but it has been the liquid variety! Our county is in a "Safer at Home" mode for the next two weeks; we've been in self-imposed isolation for 12 days; using Instacart for grocery delivery. Take care, be safe, and stay well!

  2. Since being told we ought to stay at home the weather has improved so much! We have perfect blue-sky days and starry nights and frost in the morning. Today has been much milder and it feels warm outside for the first time in ages. We are forecast snow for the weekend.
The farmers are rushing about trying to catch-up on all the field-work they've not been able to do for weeks because of the flooding.
Richard and I went out together today (with me sitting in the back of the car ;) ) to buy Mum's shopping. My car is away from home today at the garage having a service and MOT. The shop where Mum prefers to go was very well organised. We all queued outside, well-spaced apart and when one shopper came out of the store another was allowed in. The shelves had been restocked and I was able to get most of the few things Mum needed. Still no flour or toilet-paper! Richard went round doing some shopping for us and managed to get fresh vegetables and butter! We are hoping to stay at home now for some days to come, unless Mum needs me or something unexpected turns up. Stay safe and keep well, Lisa!
