For so long I've been wanting to try it, but there was always some aspect that made me hesitate. Until I came across this on Pinterest - and that little video clip pushed me over that edge. I bought some plastic lids (from Amazon) and got me some vegetables.
I put these together yesterday, during the blizzard. And after taking this picture, I made up a third jar. It's been one day.
food fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI've not tried this, but I have a friend who ferments, and it's the only way she eats vegis. They are supposed to be very good for you.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day! ♥
Oh your jars of produce look just beautiful. I went to a fermenting workshop about 5 months ago and it was sooooo easy to make saurkraut, and I am still eating it. Kombucha is also very good for you too and I have been making that on and off for a few months, I like that if you are away, you just put it to "sleep" in the fridge and start again when you get home again, it is easy to add flavours from fruit, but my favourite is ginger.....yuuuum.
ReplyDeleteooooh, fun! Did you taste the results by now? I hope you like it!
ReplyDeleteI opened a jar today, and I do like it! Except for the saltiness; I may try less salt next time. I wanted to do it right this first time and not take chances.
DeleteThese jars are beautiful! I've never tried the fermenting process this way.
