summery baby blanket

A Polish woman came up to me after Mass last week to tell me she's a grandmother. I know her very little, but that's okay - she was telling everybody!  I thought I'd make a baby blanket.

A piece of quilting cotton with a piece of cotton flannel. After sewing, then turning it right side out, now I'm hand stitching around the edges with pink floss, like these, all the way around.

  3. How lovely!

I really enjoy handstitching...so relaxing, whereas I find machine stitching a chore...

  4. love it! I made my babies similar lightweight blankets, but I didn't handstitch around the edges. What a nice touch.
