frail flowers

 If Hope, by Christina Rossetti

If hope grew on a bush,
And joy grew on a tree,
What a nosegay for the plucking
There would be!

But oh! in windy autumn,
When frail flowers wither,
What should we do for hope and joy,
Fading together?

  1. It's been a while since I've been on here, but its as delightful as ever- probably because you focus on the joy in little things, which is my philosophy in life as well. I've been busy with growing my own blog this last year and a half and stopped by to invite you and your readers over for a visit:
    serenity-stories.blogspot.com
    Please do come!
You'll find quite a bit of poems, recipes, photos... and the funny thing is I had just published a poem by Christina Rossetti the other day (Brilliant minds and all that...:-)
