I went outside looking for new life.
some buds on the crabapple
the rhododendron
the daffodils! It's a little soon, isn't it?
"It isn't quite a dead garden," she cried out softly to herself. "Even if the roses are dead, there are other things alive."
- from The Secret Garden, Frances Hodgson Burnett
Excellent tie-in with your recent reading selection!
ReplyDeleteThat was my intent, so I guess it worked! :)
DeleteOur poor daffodils were coming into flower so nicely but were battered by the snow we had last Friday and then the gale yesterday! Fortunately they are tough plants and will survive. I will go out to collect the broken ones tomorrow. I love your quote too :)
ReplyDeleteI had wondered if you had snow, Clare! I sometimes watch livestreams on youtube of this fellow named Robert E. Fuller. He puts out cameras here and there and you can watch barn owls and other creatures outside. The other night I saw a snowstorm, with wind! I was so surprised!
