A flower in the kitchen DOES add to the charm, I think. Matt brought home a bunch of daffodils this week. They brighten my day and my kitchen. Those tulips are such a lovely color. So warm and inviting. So happy. Like those bright yellow daffodils, too.
As you say, the color is juicy and perfect for a tulip. That is exactly the color I would want in my garden... BUT they don't last here. They will bloom one year, and then never again. Unless one lifts the bulbs and puts them in the fridge until the fall. I don't have *that* much refrigerator space!
I'm going to save these because they were a gift, but as you say - tulips don't come back. I grew Angeliques one year and they may have returned the next season, but that was it. And the critters like to eat the bulbs. Daffodils are easier!
What a fabulous colour and such a nice gift, too!
