The sunrise was so pretty that I thought the weatherman must be wrong, but he wasn't. It was another one of many gloomy and rainy days lately, and rather cool, too.
But inside we had company, and peanut butter cookies.
Aparently they did originate in Britain, but I hadn't really thought about it until I googled it. They are an old favourite in Australia, but I guess that comes from being a British colony originally.
I knew it! Tomorrow here sunrise is 5:17. I've been hearing the birds start singing around 4:30ish. On warm days, I try real hard to get up when it gets light, but it's not always so easy, the hardest thing being to get in bed early enough. :D
It was cold here this morning too, but the sun is shining now!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've also been baking...rock cakes :) xx
I've heard of rock cakes, but not eaten them. They're big in England, aren't they?

DeleteThat is a lovely sunrise! I haven't seen a sunrise for a while as it is a bit too early for me!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll bet your sunrise is even earlier than ours, Clare!
DeleteIt will be 04.38 tomorrow morning. It starts getting light just after 03.00. I know this because I was awake at that time a few days ago.

DeleteI never get to bed early enough!
DeleteWell, those are two evocative photos on the same post!
ReplyDeleteYou made me look again! :D
