Often on Ash Wednesday, you'll end up with a dark splotch on your forehead or maybe even a light one, but yesterday there was no mistake - I got a real cross.
"During Lent, we who are dust entrust ourselves to the healing care of the Lord who promises forgiveness and life to the dust he has made and loves."
- Magnificat, March 2017
The only time I attended an Ash Wednesday service (with my late husband), it was a year in which Orthodox Lent was not to start for another few weeks, so it didn't make sense for me to get the ashes. I was sorry about that!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good one! I had a lovely dark cross a couple of years ago. This year I had a good clear down stroke but a very faint line across. :)
