yarning along with Ginny

I thought I would join Ginny today in her weekly Yarn Along.


I've done quite a bit on Lucy's Attic24 crochet bag - just a couple more rows, then I do the ruffle edge.  And I'm re-reading Persuasion along with Rachel who's got a discussion going on her blog. 

Making this bag is a way of trying to use up yarn, so it's not a lovely thing like Lucy's, with her carefully chosen colors. And because of all the colors, there's still so much yarn left!  But I haven't crocheted in years, and this is a fun and easy project; if it comes out well, I may do another.



If you haven't read any Jane Austen, Persuasion would be a good place to start - it's short, for one thing. And a very satisfying love story, for another.

    that bag is simply awesome. i don't know how to crochet...i learned when i was pregnant, but then never did it again. this is certainly worth re-learning just for this bag. i LOVE it.

    It's always great to use up yarn that's left over. I love Jane Austen, but I've never read Persuasion.

    That's going to be a great bag -- love it! Isn't Lucy so cute and charming and so sweet to share her patterns? I'm making a Granny Stripe Blanket using a pattern of hers as well.
    And I haven't read "Persuasion" - my bad. I've watched the movie over and over -- does that count ;)? And actually, I think I have an audio version on discs somewhere. I'll have to look for them!

    Thank you for visiting my little blog and leaving a sweet comment. I LOVE your bag! Makes me think of the purses and bags in Ecuador. I wish I had lots of bright colors of leftovers in Wool yarn to knit this up and felt it! I may check out the pattern for future reference. (love Jane Austen too)

    I *love* the colors of the bag you are making! I read a lot of Jane Austen last winter: Northanger Abbey, Pride and Prejudice, and Mansfield Park; but I have yet to read Persuasion. I'll have to work that title into my reading list this season.
