the completed dress

This seems to be the best I can do to show the knit dress on. It's very comfy, as one would expect of that material.

I didn't seam the sections together; I placed one section under the other above it, top stitched on the machine, and then hand embroidered a herringbone stitch over it. I also herringboned along the neck. These were fabrics that I had, so I just put them together.

On to the next project!

  2. I went back to 2016 to see what you had written about your dress then, and I think what you came up with is much more interesting than the more monochromatic dress you were copying. I love the gray and persimmon together - my daughter had those colors for her wedding two years ago so I know they are very fashionable as well :-)

I'm inspired by your willingness to experiment and be truly creative. I used to do more of that kind of thing, and hope I might again....

    1. My feeling was, why am I pinning these images, unless to use them? So, I kind of forced myself to. :D
