cats and rabbits - it never ends

the side yard after I got home

There was a bunny out my window when I came home from work, tucked up into a roundish shape in the cool air.

Then he turned

he has a white stripe across. Could also be a Poirot mustache!

Afterward he was gone and I saw a local cat in our garden, which is near where the rabbits live. There are two cats around, tabbies with bright white faces and fronts. I was going to run out, but I would just end up running towards them and driving them in the rabbits' direction - I gave up the idea.

  1. What interesting markings! I hope you see him again for the fun of recognizing him by his distinctive mustache.

    1. I have seen him before, Gretchen, but now that these cats have come through, he's probably going to lay low for a while. :(

  2. How fun! I understand why you decided not to go after the cats!

  3. I love your moustachioed rabbit! I am sure both the cats and rabbits are completely aware of each other's presence and the rabbits will have to cope. I completely understand your feelings! I hate it when cats get near to nesting birds in our garden and when hawks and other raptors try to catch creatures in our garden. It's awful but there is nothing we can do about it. If we shoo away the predator once it will be back again when we have gone away.

    1. Rabbits have to cope too much, as far as I'm concerned. But on the other hand, their species seems to thrive.
