way way way

too early.

October in New England will often give you temperatures from one extreme to the other; eight days ago it was over 80, and today forty degrees lower. But snow -  unusual in October; it just reminds us of that awful storm a few years back.

So the snow fell all today, and even now sleet is pinging on the nearby window. It was Mark Twain who said, "If you don't like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes." Yes.

  1. We have a similar saying in Tasmania. 'If you don't like the weather...come back in half an hour!' Quite often we get the 4 seasons in one day :) We had snow on the surrounding mountains last week...2 months into spring!!

I think perhaps your New England weather is similar to Tasmania. xx

    1. Perhaps so! It's a nice thought, to have that in common, I think!

  2. Wow! No snow up here in Massachusetts. I love that Twain quote.

Lisa, the email address I have for you must be an old one. I tried to send you a message, but it didn't work. Unfortunately, I had to give up my Home Hum blog and start a new one: http://birdandstring.blogspot.com

  3. As, snow...yes, yes...it is coming, but too soon yet. I must also chime in to say we say that exact thing in Montana, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes." How funny!

  4. Oh Lisa! That is very early! I hope it goes away again ;) We have had a much milder day today and didn't need our coats.

  5. I'd love a little snow about now! It's still in the 70's and 80, and looks like it will stay that way for the next few weeks! We've broken some temperature records here for being this warm in October. I'm ready for the smell of wood smoke.
    Enjoy your weekend ♥
