blackberry surprise

What a surprise to me that we have blackberries growing in back! Not tons of them, but it's awfully nice to have them at all, since the black raspberry crop was sparse this year. We've been very dry, but it hasn't affected these juicy beauties.

  1. I've intentionally let a bowlful run riot in our garden, in hope of a blackberry and apple crumble; but I need to beat the birds to them!

  2. We have some blackberry canes in our garden and they produced many berries but we didn't get any of them - the birds and the wasps have eaten them all! There are plenty of wild blackberries developing so we may get some of those if we're quick enough! Your photo is excellent - the berries look so juicy!

  3. Yum! What a nice treat for you!
We just picked some wild blackberries on our vacation to Washington. They were the best I've ever had. Sooooooo sweet.
