Pitcairn kitty

This wooden cat is a gift from Tootsie's people; it was made by a 90 year old man on Pitcairn Island from miro wood.  The color is really deeper than appears here - I lightened it up so you could see the face. It's nine inches tall. I love it!

  1. I bet it feels nice in the hand too. The sort of object that you turn over in your hand. I love the shape and interesting face.

    1. Yes, it's very smooth and nice, as you say. But quite light weight, and I put it in a safe place away from other kitties. :)

    1. It has lots of charm, and the simplicity of it is a large part of that. Also the fact of the age of the artisan.

    1. Very exciting to me, too, Anne. My favorite musical is South Pacific; it definitely has a big appeal for me, since I was young, too.
